Stradivarius debuts at 1st level Star's first show at 1st level is very successful. 2/8/2011 Stradivarius aka. Star had a great first show of the season at Rancho Murietta on February 4th and 5th. It was his first show at 1st level and he showed us that he is clearly ready for the step up. Friday brought a score of 68% at first level test 1 and first place. In the second test, first level test 2, Star reminded us that he is still young and green by throwing in a few spooks which lowered the score to 64% and earned him a 4th place. Saturday proved to be a little trickier because of blustering winds and tent covered warmup arenas, but Star lived up to his name. His first test, test 1, Star scored a 70% and was still able to top that score in the second test with a 72.7%. Both testes earned him blue ribbons. Joan McCartney, the judge gave him many 8's and also a 9 on his stretchy circle and was very complimentary with her comments. She said, "You make this look easy. A pleasure to watch. Very talented horse and rider." Teree Castanias, his owner is thrilled with his progress and is very optimistic about his next show. |

Sandy's students are earning their medals. Many of Sandy's students have either earned or are close to earning their USDF medals. 2/8/2011 Congratulations to Kelly Collins who earned her first third level score on Sandy's semi retired show horse Woccelli. Anyone who knows Woccelli knows that he made Kelly work very hard for her score of 61.8%, especially since they were on home turf at PEC. Kelly has to earn one more score over 60% at third level, and she will have her bronze medal. Megan Soske just hot the last two scores she needed at third level to complete the requirements for her bronze medal also. Megan was riding her chestnut horse Windfall, by Watch Me, and will be moving on to fourth level this fall. Robyn Flahrty is going backwards down the scale to get her scores. She has her third level scores, and one second level score from showing her other Swedish Warmblood Whitney, and now she is going for her first and second level scores on Anaro. Anaro has been in full training with Sandy since he was a four year old and has one score with Robyn at first level. Alexis Martin-Vegue just completed the requirements for her Silver medal on one of her PRE training horses Botijo. Alexis earned her bronze medal last year on a Thoroughbred horse that she trained herself. Congratulations to everyone for their acomplishments and stay tuned because there will be a celebration soon! |
